Who’s UR Derby? CRDA fundraising event

Calgary Roller Derby Association is holding their one big fundraising event of the season on Friday, July 16 at Schank's south location. Who's UR Derby? will begin at 7 pm, and your $10 ticket will include appetizers, a silent auction and a night of fun with your favourite derby girls. If you're an adoring roller derby fan, you've watched the fishnet clad beauties in a fury of action on Saturday nights at the Triwood arena throughout the season. Now's the perfect opportunity to get to know your hero - off the track!

For your $10, you will support the league, enjoy some tasty eats at an appetizer buffet, and challenge those feisty eight wheelers to a game of pool, mini golf, arm wrestling and other games offered at Shank's.

Derby girls will be selling both team and league merchandise, so you can get those Lassie panties, Carhops t-shirt or Bellas swag you've always wanted.
There will also be a silent auction with prizes donated from local businesses and individuals. Here is your chance to get some really cool derby related art and paraphernalia.

Tickets will be available at the bout held this Saturday June 26, 2010 at the Triwood arena, from Dick N Janes on 17th Ave, and from Mersey Beats at mcssteven@gmail.com or 403-477-1094. There will also be a limited number available at the door.

My creative slump...

I've fallen into a bit of a creative slump. Le BOO! I am however doing a million other things, which make me very happy + keep me out of trouble.
I just bought a car, after not having one for (dare I say) 13 years! I have also been accepted to play as a "Fresh Meat" player with the Calgary Roller Derby Association.

Also, and very importantly (I might add) I have been on a Spring cleaning rampage.
Getting rid of old film equipment, music equipment, fabric, books, clothes, shoes, magazines + STUFF.
It's amazing how much stuff I have/had.
Crazy. Anyway, I am stoked about the changes taking place in my life at present and am planning my year in regards to markets and summer festivals that fakesweatshop will be attending.
Yeahhh.
